Lottie to MP4
Drop a Lottie — a .json from After Effects and Bodymovin, or a .lottie — and download it as an MP4 on the color you choose, a GIF, or a transparent WebM, at its own size or HD. Free, no watermark, and your file never leaves your browser.
How to make it
- Drop a Lottie .json or .lottie file on the page, or choose one — or try the example.
- Choose the background color, or None for a transparent file, and the size: its own, or HD (1080 on the short side).
- Download the MP4, a GIF or a transparent WebM: one run of the animation, at its own frame rate.
- Or open it in Paraplex: each shape becomes a layer with its keyframes, to recolor, retime or set in a 3D scene.
Three files
- MP4
- H.264 video on a solid color — for social posts, slides and anywhere a video plays.
- GIF
- for chat, email and places that take no video; smaller and coarser than the MP4.
- Transparent WebM
- the animation with nothing behind it, to lay over a page or other footage.
Questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The animation is read, drawn and turned into video in your browser; the file never leaves your computer.
Does every Lottie convert?
Shapes, fills, strokes, gradients, trim paths, precompositions, pictures and text do. Expressions, effects, masks and mattes, repeaters and 3D layers do not; the page lists anything it had to leave out.
Is it free?
Yes. Converting and downloading are free, without a watermark or an account. Paraplex's free plan includes the editor the Open in Paraplex button takes you to.
What size is the video?
The animation's own size, or HD: 1080 pixels on the short side and no more than 1920 on the long one — a 512-pixel square becomes 1080 × 1080. A Lottie is drawn as vectors, so HD is sharp, not stretched.
How long is the video?
One run of the animation, at its own frame rate. Lotties usually loop, and the MP4 loops cleanly where the animation does.
